Ways to give back.
Many people come to the Branch looking for guidance, reassurance, or just a place where people understand what hearing loss is like. Confidence grows. So does the wish to help the next person.
CC“How do I help someone else?”

Five ways to hand it forward.
Giving back strengthens this community. It means the next person can find what you found. Large or small, every contribution keeps us working on accessibility, awareness and quality of life for people with hearing loss across the National Capital Region.
Share your experience
Your story reaches someone who is newly diagnosed or still adjusting. Speak at a meeting, offer a testimonial, or simply tell one person what it was like. That is often what helps most.
Volunteer with the Branch
We rely on volunteers to organize events, welcome new members, support advocacy, and handle the work that keeps a small charity running. Even a few hours makes a difference.
Offer peer support
Sometimes the most valuable thing is listening. Encouragement, a strategy that worked for you, or help understanding a hearing aid can change someone's week.
Support outreach and education
Share what you know in your community, speak up for accessibility, or take part in outreach. It all builds understanding of hearing loss across the region.
Take part in events
Our gatherings, workshops and campaigns depend on people turning up. Your participation is what sustains the programs behind them.
Why your contribution matters
Give back and the next person finds the same support, understanding and community you did. It strengthens the Branch. Most people find they get something back from it too.
