A 2016 award funded our Let's Talk courses

At the Desjardins Caisse Populaire Rideau-Vision d'Ottawa “Dream Your Community” award ceremony in 2016, the Branch received funding to support its Let's Talk speechreading and communication strategies courses.
The award recognized a long standing commitment to communication access. The courses ran successfully for several years afterward, teaching skills that help people follow conversation when hearing alone is not enough.
It sits in a longer line of work. The Branch traces back to the Ottawa Hard of Hearing Club of the early 1970s, which joined a national coalition in 1977 and then played a pivotal role in creating the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association in 1982.
